Only a few studies have investigated the frequency and severity of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections after the end of the pandemic regulations. This study aims to investigate the frequency and severity of RSV infections before, during, and after the pandemic in Turkey. Patients under 18 years of age and those who tested positive for RSV between April 2018 and March 2023 were retrospectively reviewed. All patients were divided into three groups (pre-COVID-19, COVID-19, and post-COVID-19) according to admission date. Among inpatients, data were compared between the three groups to determine the impact of the pandemic on RSV epidemiology and clinical outcomes.
