High-intensity functional training (HIFT) is a competition and training modality that has gained popularity over the last few years. As a result, disciplines like Hyrox(c) have emerged recently, responding to the need for a fixed competition. The aim of this study was to assess the worldwide participation trends from its inception to the 2023/2024 season of this novel competition. A total of 145 races and 278. 063 participants divided into 5 seasons were included in the study. Each division experienced noticeable growth compared to the previous season, except to the 2020/2021 season, due to COVID-19 pandemic. Likewise, the number of host countries per season also increased, reaching a total of 22 countries worldwide, highlighting its potential for continued expansion. The findings of this study contribute valuable insight into the evolving landscape of HIFT and underscore Hyrox(c)’s emergence as a global fitness trend.
